A Bowie firm, run by the man who signs the drawings
Jason Swaim opened the office on North Mason in April of 2003 after ten years with Halff Associates. He holds both a Professional Engineer license and a Registered Professional Land Surveyor license in Texas — the same two seals you see at the bottom of our drawings, and the reason a project doesn't have to be handed between two firms.
Engineering and surveying services of exceptional value to our clients and the North Texas community, while enhancing our environment through dedication, expertise, experience, ethics, and technology.
The vault
Ninety years of Montague County, in one office
When a surveyor retires around here, his records have to go somewhere. Over four generations they've come to us — which means a boundary question on your tract can often be answered from field notes written decades before the fence went up.
Early 1930s – 1940sM. F. LeonardThe oldest continuous run in the office, plus records from W. A. Morris that predate Leonard's.
Mid-1940s – Dec 1970B. W. KarstetersPostwar Montague County, when much of the rural fence line got set.
Jan 1971 – 2006Hardy L. Seay, Jr.Thirty-five years of field notes. Hardy is still with the firm as owner emeritus.
2003 – presentSwaim Engineering and SurveyingEverything since Jason opened the doors, tied back to all of the above.
If your land has a history in this county, there's a fair chance it's already in a drawer down the hall.

Licensed, and kept that way
Both licenses are active and current, and both carry continuing education requirements that don't stop.
Add it up and there's close to two hundred years of surveying experience in this building. Jo Lee has been doing title research since 1973. Hardy Seay has been at it since the sixties.
